Zusammenfassung

Die Erkrankung betrifft überwiegend Erwachsene, aber in 3–5% der Fälle auch Kinder und Jugendliche. Unter pädiatrischer Multipler Sklerose wird zumeist ein Erkrankungsbeginn vor dem 16. Geburtstag verstanden, gelegentlich auch vor dem 18. Lebensjahr.
