Development of Low Cost Instrument for Measuring Suspended Solids in Fermented Wash

Abstract

An attempt has been made to develop a low cost system based on nephelometric principle for measurement of suspended particles in the effluent from Sugar factories and distilleries. The instrument uses a potential arrangement of two LDRs of 20mm in diameter, for compensating for inherent non-linearity of LDRs and providing a low-cost alternative. The paper describes mathematical model and the experimental results.
