Zusammenfassungen

Führungsinformationssysteme (FIS) unterstützen das Topmanagement und werden oftmals dem Kontext der Business Intelligence (BI) zugerechnet. Dieser Beitrag erörtert, inwieweit FIS aufgrund ihrer aufgaben-, personen-oder nutzungsbezogenen Besonderheiten aus BI-Sicht einer gesonderten Behandlung bedürfen. Anhand des innovativen Führungsinformationssystems der Bayer MaterialScience AG — bms:roi — wird illustriert, wie eine nahtlose Einbettung eines FIS in eine BI-Umgebung ausgestaltet werden kann. Das Beispiel zeigt, dass aktuelle Anforderungen an ein FIS berücksichtigt werden können, ohne gesonderte technische oder organisatorische Strukturen aufzubauen. Im Fall bms:roi werden hierfür Data-Warehouse-basierte BI-Ansätze mit Portal- und Rich-Internet-Application-Technologien kombiniert.
