David Sponseller received his Ph.D. in metallurgical engineering from the University of Michigan in 1962. He is currently a Staff Metallurgist at the AMAX Materials Research Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Carl Shawber received his degree in metallurgy and materials science from Lehigh University in 1977. He is currently an Applications Engineer with AMAX Magnesium
