Cyclophosphamide/Melphalan: Early-Onset Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in a Patient with Multiple Myeloma: Case Report

A 61-year-old woman with multiple myeloma developed acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) with mixed-lineage leukemia gene (MLL) rearrangement after receiving cyclophosphamide and melphalan [durations of therapies not stated].

The woman presented in January 2007. She was diagnosed with multiple myeloma; she had a normal karyotype (46,XX[20/20]). In July 2007, following 4 cycles of high-dose dexamethasone, her peripheral blood stem cells were mobilized and collected using cyclophosphamide 4 g/m2 and granulocyte colony-stimulating factor.
