54, kam nach seiner Ausbildung über den zweiten Bildungsweg (kfm. Lehre, Fachhochschulstudium, Studium der BWL und Promotion an der TU Berlin) 1978 zur BASF. Nach verschiedenen Stationen im In- und Ausland übernahm er 1999 die Leitung des Operational Controlling der BASF.
