Abstract
Volkswagen launched the new Gol. Its earlier versions have been the best-selling car in this South American country since 1987. The Gol looks like a shortened Golf. It is precisely geared toward the local taste of customers in South America, who — because of small wallets, long distances and less than perfect roads — favour compact cars with a reasonable price tag, a large tank and a lot of endurance.
