Abstract
The advanced chassis design of recent decades in the area of mechanics and electronics has led to more controllable vehicle behaviour. The importance of developing a tyre that matches a vehicle and the demands placed on tyre performance continuously increase. The number of vehicle variants multiplied by the available tyre sizes demands greater effort in the vehicle development pro cess for fitting tyres to each model. This is why BMW encourages objective methods in the vehicle development process [1].
