Edward E. Lawler III is assistant professor of industrial administration and psychology at Yale University. He is completing a book on managerial effectiveness for which he received a Richardson Foundation grant and is at work on a book (with L. W. Porter) on the relationship between managers’ attitudes and their job performance.
