Research in nonferrous metallurgy in the National Technical University of Athens/Greece

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to present the activities of the Laboratory of Metallurgy of the National Technical University of Athens in the area of nonferrous metallurgy. Initially a short description of the academic environment, the Technical University and the School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering is given and then in more detail an account of the infrastructure of the Laboratory of Metallurgy, the funding sources and the research ativities. Special emphasis is given on the research topics and the organizations that have collaborated with the Laboratory in these fields.

Zusammenfassung

Der Artikel behandelt die Forschungsaktivitäten des Laboratoriums für Metallurgie der Technischen Universität Athen auf dem Gebiet der Nichteisenmetallurgie. Zu Beginn werden das akademische Umfeld, die Technische Universität und die «School of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering» kurz beschrieben und danach wird eine ausführliche Übersicht der Infrastruktur des Laboratoriums für Metallurgie, der finanziellen Mittel und der Forschungsprojekte gegeben sowie der Organisationen, mit denen das Labor auf diesen Gebieten zusammengearbeitet hat.
