The extended method of calculation as a correction to the ordinary method for the atomic systems of transition elements

Abstract

The wave function of the extended method of calculation is used as a correction to the wave function of the ordinary method of calculation for the d-electrons of atoms and ions of the iron group elements, under the extended method of calculation being understood the use of radial orbitals equal in number to the number of electrons in the shell. The method of expressing the energy in terms of radial integrals in the extended method of calculation is characterized. Some numerical results are presented and discussed.
