Internal bremsstrahlung from204Tl

Abstract

The contiunous spectrum of internal bremsstrahlung from the unique first forbidden beta decay of204Tl was measured using the β stopper method with a multichannel analyzer and NaI (Tl) scintillation detector together with a standard geometrical arrangement. The raw spectrum was corrected for several factors using the step-by-step process of Liden and Starfeld and compared with theoretical results such as KUB (Knipp, Uhlenbeck and Bloch), LF (Lewis and Ford) and N (Nilsson) theories. The divergence between experiment and theory was found to increase with increasing energy.
