Abstract

Ba1−x Sr x TiO3 and BaTiO3∶Mn single crystals were grown in halogen lamp heated thermal image furnace. The method is very advantageous when quick evaluation of properties of a new crystal is needed, since the growth rates are rather high compared to most other methods. The other benefit of this procedure is the possibility to grow refractory crystals in oxygen with higher melting point than 1700 °C.
