Samenvatting

INSPIRE is een onderzoek dat is gefinancierd met geld uit de farmaceutische industrie. In dit onderzoek vergeleek men twee behandelingen van patiënten met COPD (GOLD klasse III en IV, dus ernstige tot zeer ernstige COPD): inhalatiesteroïden, gecombineerd met salmeterol enerzijds en tiotropium anderzijds.
