Samenvatting

Welke arts droomt er niet van om onsterfelijk te worden door zijn naam te verbinden aan de ontdekking van een tot dusverre onbekende diagnostische test of ziekte? Dankzij het teken van Homan, de ziekte van Parkinson, morbus Huntington, het gangreen van Fournier en de tetralogie van Fallot blijven hun ontdekkers immers voor eeuwig voor de vergetelheid behoed, althans zo leek het tot voor kort.
