Samenvatting

Hartfalen is een veelvoorkomend probleem en het aantal patiënten met hartfalen neemt nog toe door onder andere de vergrijzing. Patiënten met hartfalen kunnen behandeld worden door de cardioloog of de huisarts. Oudere patiënten met hartfalen zijn doorgaans bij hun huisarts onder behandeling. In onderstaande casus over een patiënt met hartfalen, zoals een huisarts die in zijn praktijk vaak meemaakt, komen enkele aspecten betreffende de diagnostiek uit de herziene NHG-Standaard Hartfalen aan de orde.
