Samenvatting

In het eerste deel van dit artikel over glucosregulatie in Critical Care (nummer 5, 2007) schreven we over de Leuven-studies die hebben aangetoond dat met name bij chirurgische IC- patiënten de mortaliteit drastisch afneemt wanneer de glucose scherp wordt geregeld. In dit tweede deel gaan we verder in op het gunstige effect van scherpe glucoseregulatie en de toepassing ervan in de praktijk.
