Samenvatting
De laatste jaren komt er in Nederland steeds meer aandacht voor de telefonische triage, aangezien dit algemeen beschouwd wordt als het meest kwetsbare element van de huidige zorg op huisartsenposten. Telefonische triage heeft tot doel de hulpvraag te achterhalen en de patiënt op de juiste plaats en op het juiste moment de juiste hulp te bieden. Op de huisartsenpost wordt de telefonische triage uitgevoerd door doktersassistentes en verpleegkundigen onder supervisie van huisartsen. Er zijn verschillende triagesystemen in gebruik, maar momenteel is de NHG-TelefoonWijzer de standaard op de huisartsenposten. De overige ketenpartners gebruiken een eigen triagesysteem. Uit onderzoek blijkt dat triage bijdraagt aan een efficiëntere inzet van mens en middelen, maar de resultaten zijn niet conclusief voor wat betreft compliantie en veiligheid. In Nederland zijn er meerdere ontwikkelingen gaande, zoals een gecertificeerde opleiding voor triagisten, training van huisartsen tot regiearts en de komst van een uniform triagesysteem voor alle ketenpartners.
In de toekomst is het van belang de aandacht te richten op de kwaliteit en veiligheid van telefonische triage, door verder onderzoek te doen en inzage in het elektronisch medisch dossier te implementeren.
