Samenvatting

Bij patiënten met voortgeschreden parodontale afbraak en actieve ontsteking is het altijd lastig de prognose van de aangedane elementen te bepalen. Vooral in een verwijspraktijk, omdat de voorgeschiedenis meestal onduidelijk is en alle diagnostische gegevens die je verzamelt het beeld van het moment geven. Wel is altijd duidelijk dat er in het verleden onvoldoende subgingivaal gereinigd is. Er moet dus in ieder geval met een goede subgingivale reiniging begonnen worden.
