Samenvatting

De mate van geweld in de samenleving is deels af te leiden uit ziekenhuisgegevens. Daarbij komen opmerkelijke verschillen aan het licht. Zo ook bij de oorzaken van maxillofaciale fracturen, waarvan in Schotland, Zweden en Noorwegen onderling geweld de belangrijkste oorzaak is. In Frankrijk en Japan echter staan verkeersongelukken bovenaan als oorzaak van maxillofaciale fracturen.
