Collegiale opvang na een schokkende ervaring op het werk

Samenvatting

Een bedrijfsongeval, plotseling overlijden van een collega of een gewelddadige overval betekent voor vrijwel iedere werknemer een schokkende ervaring. Directe en adequate zorg na zo’n gebeurtenis kan een belangrijke voorwaarde zijn voor de verdere verwerking. Blijven rondlopen met een dergelijke ervaring kan zorgen voor stress, ziekte of zelfs langdurige arbeidsongeschiktheid. Hoe kunnen deze mensen het beste worden opgevangen? Wat is de rol van collega’s en leidinggevenden? In deze bijdrage gaan we in op deze vragen, gedeeltelijk aan de hand van het collegiaal opvangmodel van het Onze Lieve Vrouwe Gasthuis (OLVG) in Amsterdam.
