Samenvatting
De meeste patiënten met glenohumerale instabiliteit (subluxatie en dislocatie) kunnen goed niet-operatief worden behandeld. Als deze therapie niet helpt, kan men met moderne anatomische reconstructietechnieken bij ruim 90% van de patiënten de stabiliteit en functie herstellen. Als het gewenste resultaat niet wordt bereikt, overweegt men steeds vaker een revisie-operatie. Het opheffen van de instabiliteit kan mislukken in verband met een verkeerde diagnose, onjuiste operatietechniek, of inadequate revalidatie.
