semenvatting

Sensorimotor interventions in experiential treatment of anxiety disorders
Many roads lead to Rome. In the treatment of anxiety disorders not only cognitive behaviour therapy, but also experiential psychotherapy produces good results. Further amelioration of treatment is possible by the application of sensorimotor interventions. These interventions specifically focus on the anxiety. They are especially useful in the symptom phase of the treatment. As the client gets more control over his anxiety, the underlying dysfunctional schemes and avoidance can be treated more effectively. The experiential and sensorimotor approach is based on insights from neurobiology, attachment theory and practical experience.
