Samenvatting
Het is op zichzelf al een hele prestatie om op nauwelijks meer dan 100 pagina`s een overzicht te geven van de relevantste elementen van de complexe problematiek die alcoholverslaving is. Het lijkt helemaal overmoedig om te proberen om in dezelfde ruimte nog een nuttig bruikbaar praktisch behandelgedeelte te verwerken. De auteur is naar mijn mening op beide punten ruimschoots in zijn opzet geslaagd. Op een erg compacte, maar vlot leesbare manier bundelt hij een grote hoeveelheid relevante informatie. De literatuur waar hij op voortbouwt, is actueel en representatief voor de huidige wetenschappelijke stand van zaken.
