Samenvatting

Het is nog geen uitgemaakte zaak dat ‘de Nederlandse Euthanasiewet’ (Wet toetsing levensbeëindiging op verzoek en hulp bij zelfdoding) niet conflicteert met het Europese Verdrag tot bescherming van de rechten van de mens en de fundamentele vrijheden (EVRM). Vanuit dat gegeven hield (onder meer) de werkgroep Gezondheidsrecht van het Nederlands Juristen Comité voor de Mensenrechten vorig jaar een symposium: De Euthanasiewet: grondrechten onder druk? Onder dezelfde titel is nu een boek verschenen. Het bevat de bijdragen van diverse juristen, filosofen en theologen aan het symposium. Onder hen onder meer André Rouvoet (behalve Tweede Kamerlid óók jurist), Govert den Hartogh en Martin Buijsen.
