Abstract
In this article we review the literature about different aspects of titillomania, i.e. clinical appearance, diagnostics, differential diagnosis, aetiology and treatment. Behavioural therapy, the most effective treatment, is outlined. Furthermore, we present a case study of a forty five year old woman, who suffered from titillomania since seventeen years. After the first session this patient stopped scratching herself. Follow-up of six months showed one day of relapse, which she controlled herself the next day.
