Samenvatting
Palliatieve zorg richt zich per definitie steeds op de patiënt en zijn familie. Niet zelden is de familie naast zorgdrager ook zorgvrager; de verborgen patiënt. Goede zorg voor families impliceert dan ook zorgvuldig communiceren en respectvol omgaan met de eigenheid van deze familie in deze situatie.

Katlijn Willems is maatschappelijk werker en contextueel therapeute i.o. Zij heeft jarenlange ervaring in de palliatieve thuiszorg. Momenteel werkt zij als zelfstandig trainer-consulent voor vzw Integraal en is zij als teamcoach verbonden aan een huisartsengroep.
Dr. Peter Demeulenaere is huisarts in een huisartsengroep en referentiearts palliatieve zorg bij de Leerstoel Palliatieve Zorg aan de ua. Daarnaast is hij als palliatief arts verbonden aan het Centrum voor Palliatieve Zorg Sint-Camillus,az Sint-Augustinus te Wilrijk. Als trainer-consulent bij vzw Integraal geeft hij opleidingen aan hulpverleners in de palliatieve zorg.
