Acute buikpijn: vasculaire oorzaken

Samenvatting

De belangrijkste twee vasculaire oorzaken voor acute buikpijn zijn aneurysma van de buikslagader – met name het geruptureerde aneurysma – en acute intestinale ischemie. Twee ziektebeelden met uiteenlopende en soms zeer aspecifieke symptomatologie. Voor beide geldt echter dat de prognose sterk afhankelijk is van vroege herkenning, en dus van vroege herkenning van de risicogroepen. Immers, beide ziektebeelden komen vaker voor bij patiënten met een bepaald, herkenbaar risicoprofiel. Mortaliteit en morbiditeit zijn hoog in beide groepen. In de behandeling van het geruptureerde aneurysma wordt de plaats van endovasculaire therapie steeds belangrijker.
