Samenvatting

Problemen ten gevolge van het handmatig voorschrijven van geneesmiddelen, zoals onduidelijke handschriften, onvolledige medicatieopdrachten en verkeerde doseringen, zouden tot het verleden behoren indien alleen nog maar elektronisch zou worden voorgeschreven. In een recent onderzoek, uitgevoerd in een universiteitsziekenhuis met 633 bedden in Philadelphia (Verenigde Staten), werd deze stelling in de praktijk onderzocht.
