Unusually rapid incarceration of a polyvinyl ring pessary

Summary

At polyvinyl vaginal ring pessary resulted in gross vaginal wall ulceration and entrapment of the pessary within four months of insertion. The pessary became immobilised in the vagina and required surgical excision under general anaesthesia.
