Überammonites ventricosus sow. und ähnliche schlotheimiiden im tieferen sinemurium (unterer lias)

Abstract

Original specimens ofWähner (1886) and material from SW-Germany showAmm. ventricosus to be a species ofAngulaticeras, characterized by a true external sulcus and umbilical accentuation of the ribs during a juvenal period of ontogeny. Similar forms with densely ribbed inner whorls are provisionally summarized under „Sulciferites“ sensuDonovan &Forsey (1973). It is shown that Schlotheimiids with „Charmasseiceras habitus“ in advanced stage of ontogeny exhibit very different inner whorls; some of them show relations toAngulaticeras.

Zusammenfassung

An Originalstücken Wähner’s und Material aus SW-Deutschland wird gezeigt, daßAmm. ventricosus Sow. zuAngulaticeras zu stellen ist. Ähnliche Schlotheimiiden aus dem Unter-Sinemurium, provisorisch unter „Sulciferites“ sensuDonovan &Forsey (1973) zusammengefaßt, werden beschrieben. Es wird gezeigt, daß Schlotheimiiden, die „Charmasseiceras-Habitus“ in späterem ontogenetischen Stadium aufweisen, sehr unterschiedliche Innenwindungen haben können. Ein Teil von ihnen (Sulciferites s. str. und „Sulciferites“hercynicus) zeigt Beziehungen zuAngulaticeras.
