Prognosis in infantile eczema

The result of a postal follow-up of children who had been treated for infantile eezema in the Children’s Hospital, Temple St. during the years 1932–45 is reported. It was possible to analyse the subsequent history of 42 children.

In 58 per cent. of cases the eczema cleared by the age of eight; 30·9 per cent. never cleared, 26 per cent. of the cases developed asthma.
