Correction method for estimating the number of reversions in bacteria

Abstract

A correction of the results of mutation tests in bacteria during the induction of reversions from auxotrophy to prototrophy is described. The correction is based on a calibration curve of the spontaneous frequency of reversions and is suitable for testing doses of mutagens that exhibit a pronounced lethal effect.
