Summary
The resonance line widths (ΔH) in the X-band for fine-grained Cr2O3 and α-Fe2O3, as obtained experimentally, are given. The half-power line widths ΔH are found to increase as temperature is lowered, and their variations with temperature above 2000K are explained by rotation of the net magnetic moment of the grain according to the thermal activation process. The magnetic potential barriers are calculated to be small, being of the order of 10−3 eV.
