Analyses of the characteristics of diarrhea by acupuncture treatment in ancient times

Abstract

The data concerning the treatment of diarrhea by acupuncture in 62 ancient books are computerized and thus show that the ancient acupuncturists primarily meridian, bladder meridian, and the foot yin meridians. As to the location, the acupoints on the abdomen, back, exterior side of leg and the hands and feet are used. The common techniques are moxibustion, hot compression, needling, blood letting, navel application and so on.
