Problem of the kaon-nucleon σ-term

Summary

We discuss possible ways of finding the kaon-nucleon σ-term and its connection with the mechanism and degree of chiral symmetry breaking in strong interactions. Some estimates of the kaon-nucleon σ-term, using different approaches, are given and compared.
