Summary

A formulation by gauge theory is given for families of leptons which have been introduced to explain the phenomena in the cosmic-ray air showers above 1015eV. The families, called categories, consist of three sets of leptons (e, μ, τ), (ζε,ζμ,ζτ) and (σε,σμ,σ,τ), where ξ and σ denote heavy leptons having the particle numbers specified by the subscript. By taking the gauge group as [SU 2]n×U 1 for then-category model, the weak-interaction Lagrangian is derived. Notable modifications are obtained in the interactions of Z0.

Si dà una formulazione mediante la teoria di gauge per famiglie di leptoni che sono state introdotte per spiegare i fenomeni negli sciami cosmici al di sopra di 1015 eV. Le famiglie, dette categorie, consistono di tre insiemi di leptoni (e, μ, τ), (ζε,ζμ,ζτ) e (σε,σμ,σ,τ), dove ξ e σ denotano leptoni pesanti con il numero di particelle specificato dall'indice.
