Abstract

Vacuum filtration can be performed at maximum efficiency, with allowance for the properties of the materials being filtered, only by stable operation of the vacuum-filtration units and the creation of maximum negative pressure by the vacuum pumps. However, efficient and reliable operation of vacuum-filtration units can be assured only if the location of the pieces of equipment relative to each other is optimum. On the whole, the automation of vacuum filtration also depends on the configuration of the equipment. It depends in particular on the method used to remove the filtrate from the receivers.
