Summary
Three cases of severe epidemic encephalitis due to Japanese encephalitis virus, showing derangement of higher mental faculties and motor system, were treated with Levo-dopa. A remarkable improvement was observed in the higher mental function and the motor system. Three similar cases are also presented in whom Levo-dopa could not be administered; these cases showed no improvement.
