Riassunto

Il metodo variazionale elaborato daSchwinger per la trattazione dei problemi d'urto, viene esteso al caso di un sistema sottoposto all'azione di un potenziale dipendente dal tempo. Si dimostra che l'ampiezza di probabilità di transizione dallo stato iniziale ad uno stato finale qualsiasi gode di una proprietà di stazionarietà. Si fa vedere come il caso indipendente dal tempo discende dal caso generale qui esaminato.

Summary

The variational method developed bySchwinger for the treatment of scattering problems has been extended to include the case of a time-dependent potential. The transition amplitude from an initial to an arbitrary final state is shown to be stationary. The time-independent case follow easily from this more general principle.
