Optical model of nuclei and elastic backscattering of π-mesons

Summary

A general inequality is established connecting the differential elastic cross-section at 90° and 180° in the limiting case of a black nucleus. The optical model of nuclei is applied to the interaction of π-mesons with the heavy elements of Ilford G.5 plates.
