A QCD explanation for asymmetries in polarized pp high-p elastic scattering

Summary

In the framework of the hard-scattering model with a QCD constituent interaction, we consider a final-quark recombination mechanism to describe high-p polarized pp elastic scattering. Predictions for the asymmetries are obtained and we explain the measured large value ofAnn at highp. Tests and comparisons with other models are discussed.

Резюме

В рамках модели рассеяния с QCD взаимодействием мы рассматриваем механизм рекомбинации кварков для описания упругого рассеяния поляризованбых протонов на протонах с большимиp. Получаются предсказания для асимметрий. Мы обьясняем измеренную большую величинуAnn при большихp. Проводится сравнение с другими моделями.

Riassunto

Nello schema del «modello a scattering duro» con un'interazione di QCD tra costituenti consideriamo un meccanismo di ricombinazione tra quark finali per descrivere lo scattering elastico ad altip di protoni polarizzati. Otteniamo predizioni per le asimmetrie e spieghiamo il grande valore diAnn misurato ad altip. Discutiamo inoltre test e confronti con altri modelli.
