Dr. Marks is coordinator of selection, field experiences, and instruction for the Southern California High School-Specialist Teacher Program, a cooperative experimental project launched in 1960 by the University of Southern California and the Los Angeles City Schools. This unique pilot program, which combines two years of graduate study with pre-service and in-service training as teacher-assistant, student teacher, and intern teacher, is being supported by a Ford Foundation grant of $660,000 over a five-year period.
