Protecting the Environment

Abstract

The dire environmental situation in a number of cities and the urgent need to take steps to protect air and water resources require the development of new and efficient methods of pollution control. This problem is also important in the processing of secondary ferrous metals. In addition to the scrap-breaking shops at metallurgical plants, about 1500 other shops and subdivisions process scrap metal within the nations of the CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States).
