Microindentation behavior of CoGaInS4 layered crystals

Abstract

CoGaInS4 crystals were grown by iodide vapor transport, and their mechanical properties (load-dependent Vickers microhardness and anisotropic scratch hardness) were studied. The plastic deformation and brittle fracture of the crystals were examined. The physical processes accompanying microindentation were discussed.
