Summary

A case of trichobezoar in an 8-year-old girl is reported. The characteristic clinical, radiological and operative features are discussed. The possible cause of trichophagy in this girl was mental retardation, though several cases have been reported in the literature with a normal mental status and without any abnormal behaviour.
