Exact periodic orbits in an asymmetric dynamical system

  • Published:
Lettere al Nuovo Cimento (1971-1985)

Summary

Exact periodic orbits are found analytically in a time-independent, two-dimensional potential field. This potential is considered to represent stellar motion near the centre of a real elliptical galaxy, that shows small asymmetries due to the effect of companions. The theoretical results coincide with those given by numerical integration.
