Changing the threshold of chaos by resonant parametric modulation

Summary

We investigate, by means of the Melnikov method, the effects produced by the introduction of a resonant parametric modulation on the onset of chaos in a fairly general class of 1-dimensional problems, including the Duffing-Holmes oscillator and the Josephson junction model.
