Range measurements for muons in the GeV region

Summary

The range of highly relativistic muons has been measured. The results of the experiment are presented and compared with the theoretical expectations. The agreement between experiment and theory is estabilished to be within 2% up to a value ofγ as high as 23.

I risultati sperimentali delle misure di « range » per muoni altamente relativistici sono presentati e discussi in relazione alle previsioni teoriche. L’accordo tra teoria ed esperienza è stabilito al 2% fino al più alto valore diγ misurato e cioèγ=23.
