Sum rules from the algebra of current densities

Summary

A general method to derive sum rules involving mass-shell amplitudes from the algebra of space and time components of the current densities is developed. It is shown that the so-called «Schwinger terms» can be eliminated in the «quark» model by a proper symmetrization. The case of vector currents is discussed for the spin-1/2 baryons and in particular the sum rules associated with the equal-time commutation relations of the magnetic moments.

Si sviluppa un metodo generale per dedurre regole di somma per le ampiezze dello strato della massa nell'algebra delle componenti spaziali e temporali delle densità di corrente. Si dimostra che i cosiddetti «termini di Schwinger» possono essere eliminati nel modello dei «quark» con una opportuna simmetrizzazione. Si discute il caso delle correnti vettoriali per i barioni di spin 1/2 ed in particolare le regole di somma associate con relazioni di commutazione di tempo uguale dei momenti magnetici.
